The first Buttacup product was initially conceived in early 2015, by Bjorn Wood, who had a creative idea whilst looking at an ugly but hugely functional water butt in his family’s garden. A series of designs and ideas followed, with the product officially launched as part of the GLEE gardening show, staged at the NEC in Birmingham–where it came runner-up in the GLEE 2015 Best New Product category! Since the launch, Buttacup has been highly commended by GIMA (Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association), and recently been endorsed by the conservation charity, ‘Buglife’.
Buttacup products are designed to be unique, stylish, and functional, whilst brightening up any home or garden. Our starter kits also provide an ideal introduction to gardening that the whole family can enjoy– a fun and easy way to build essential new habitats for flora and fauna.
“Buglife are delighted to announce our endorsement and association with the Buttacup range. These ingenious devices will help slow the flow of water particularly in built up areas potentially reducing the risk of flooding and also providing self watering planting space that can be used to create oasis of food and shelter for the small things that run the planet. Making a real contribution to saving our bees, butterflies and other vital bugs.”
